Workspace Revamp

It has been forever since my last post. Life has just gotten a bit crazy lately.. But here's what's new!

We recently moved into a new apartment that actually has a little workspace nook!
I had a desk our whole first year of marriage but literally never used it once. Our old layout just wasn't conducive for it at all.  It was in the middle of the hallway crammed in between all our other junk and it was also no where near sunlight-- which is top on my priority list. So now that I have a space that actually allows me to set up a little home office I have been so stoked. Been drawing so much inspo from Pinterest lately and wanted to share some favorites. Mainly I love the white desk, looks so clean. And also love the idea of a gallery wall as a backdrop. Hoping to get the desk in this very bottom right side photo.

Can't wait to get started on my own spot and post it soon!!

Love Is In The Air

Recently, Hillary & Dylan, some of my best friends got engaged & I got the pleasure of helping out to capture a few photos of them for an engagement session. They are the perfect match for each other and I loved so much getting to snap a little glimpse into their relationship. Love you two!

Reset

Welcome to Monday.

Going to get real for a minute.. Lately my weeks have been dragging by so slowly.
Life has seemed pretty mundane.
I think a lot of it has to do with the gloomy weather and some because I'm not content with my job but this morning I woke up feeling inspired.
Mostly because I'm surrounded by beautiful friends and my wonderful husband who constantly encourage me to follow my dreams.
Yesterday was the perfect Sunday and so this little Pinterest find fit perfectly as a weekly inspiration.
Wanted to share it!

Guide to Nashville

One of my best friends and I recently took a little weekend road trip to Nashville.
We crammed in as much fun as we could and I wanted to share some of my favorite spots if you're ever passing through.

Barista Parlor was my favorite spot of the whole trip. First off, I swoon over vintage bikes and this place was packed with them.
And secondly, every inch of their design/decor was perfection.
It helped that the weather was incredible that day because they have the most adorable outisde seating area where we were able to enjoy our iced coffee from a mason jar.

Another great coffee shop is Crema. Got a coffee with ginger and molasses. So good!
(And Brad Paisley was in line behind me so that must mean it's cool, right?!)

Dinner at The Pharmacy Burger Parlor & Beer Garden.
And drinks at Holland House Bar & Refuge while we waited for our dinner reservations. They had tons of great cocktails for $6.

After dinner we headed to Pinewood Social which is a really hip spot for drinks and they have a super cute retro bowling alley in the back. It's a must see!

We finished the night off by walking around downtown. (Which I quickly realized is not my scene.)
Lots of honkey tonking. But if you're into that theres hundreds of options to keep you occupied.

The next morning we drove out to Franklin, TN. Which was like 20min outside the city and has breakfast at Puckett's General Store.
Then finished the trip visiting a Flea Market at the Tennessee State Fair Grounds.

Some other suggestions I got but didn't have time to check out were:
Baja Burrito
Sam's Sushi
Pancake Pantry
Frothy Monkey
Marche
Burger Up
Silly Goose
Virago

It was an amazing little trip and I will definitely be visiting again!
Love to hear if any of you have more suggestions in the Nashville area for next time!

Hat Hunt

My latest style obsession is oversized hats. Growing up I was never a big 'hat wearer' but lately they've become one of the easiest ways to accessorize. As Spring draws closer I will be keeping my eyes open for one of these beauties. Browns and blacks are my favorite. Would love to hear of any store suggestions where you might have seem something similar!

Adventure List

I love making lists.
I make at least one a day for some reason or another. My ideas float in and out so quickly that I need that reminder.
Putting something down on paper automatically makes it more tangible for me. And greatly increases the chances that I'll actually get it done. [& in a timely manner]

So I wanted to take a minute to type out a list that Zac & I have been growing for a while now.
It's a list of our top travel destinations!
One of our biggest & most serious resolution for 2014 was to travel more, so here is a first step in making that a reality.

The states are more realistic to knock out first at this point because of costs but we definitely plan to still tackle the intentional spots as soon as we can. [I'm thinking European backpacking trip to knock out a lot of them!!] But it's fun to dream about it until then.

San Fransisco & Big Sur || CA
Portland & Mt.Hood || OR
Kansas City || MO
Anchorage || AK
Nashville || TN
Houston || TX
Denver || CO
Seattle || WA

New Zealand
Australia
Thailand
Portugal
Greece
France
Italy

Are there any places you've been dying to see? Think about it and start a little list. The more you see the names of the amazing places, the more your passion to see them will grow & it'll be much easier to make the dream into reality!
